Kitchen Substitutes - Eagles Cafe

The Eagle’s Cafe (cafeteria), located at the High School campus in North Haledon, occasionally needs substitutes to help in the kitchen.

This is a five (5) hour shift. 8:00 AM-1:00 PM unless otherwise specified.

Homestay Family - 2024-2025 School Year

Eastern Christian is seeking Homestay Families for the 2024-2025 school year. The homestay family is responsible for cultivating a safe, nurturing, structured and comfortable home environment for Eastern Christian School’s international student(s). The Homestay Family should be able to develop a relationship with the student in the home; grounded in compassion, mutual respect, and consistency. Hosting an international student is truly a ministry, an opportunity to share Christ’s love in your home. When an international family decides to send their child to America, a large measure of trust is being given to Eastern Christian School and to the Homestay Family. The Homestay Family will ensure that each child will be safe and loved. Eastern Christian expects the Homestay Family to take a proactive and hands-on approach and are responsible for a multitude of tasks related to the students’ experience at their home and at Eastern Christian School.

An annual stipend is paid to the Homestay Family.

ditto Upscale Resale - Floor Manager

Ditto of North Jersey is seeking a part-time Floor Manager. The Floor Manager is responsible for working as part of the store leadership team to oversee the daily operations and management of the sales floor area. 

Schedule:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays
  • Three (3) Saturdays per month
  • Total of 27 – 29 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of the store leadership team by participating in the daily operations and management of the sales floor area.
  • An overview knowledge of Donations (“back room”) procedure is expected but Oversight of the Donations in not part of the job requirement.
  • Coordinating the stock of the Retail Store and assuring that tables, shelves and racks are fully stocked. Items for sale should be seasonally consistent with the time of year. “Older” merchandise should be identified and reduced in price or redirected to another organization as necessary.
  • General store cleanliness and organization including proper signage. Will oversee decorating windows and foyer according to season.
  • Supervision of the Point-of-Sale transactions as well as training of staff (cashiers).
  • Proper opening and closing of the store according to Standard Operating Procedures including the securing of the store assets, monetary and merchandise.
  • Ordering supplies such as, but not limited to, volunteer refreshments, cleaning items, donation packaging supplies, etc.
  • Assist General Manager on daily and upcoming schedules including staffing and sales.
  • Will work as a team member for the benefit of the organization and the ministry.
  • Professional Qualifications:
  • Must be a “people person” that is able to communicate easily with donors, customers, volunteers and other managers.
  • Must be well organized and able to work with others.
  • Must be able to take direction and give direction to others.
  • Sales experience is valued but not a requirement. The desire and ability to learn the retail aspects of the business are a must.
  • A second language is greatly welcomed but not necessary. A tolerance for those who have difficulty with the English language is a requirement.
  • Must be able to open the day in prayer. All employees are expected to receive donors and customers wherever they are spiritually and should be able to share their faith with others.
